Temperature Blanket Planner / Privacy

Privacy policy

The city and year you pick are used to look up weather. We record a few anonymous usage events and the emails people choose to send us.

What we collect

  • Weather lookups: the weather station and year you ask for. These are stored with the cached weather and are not linked to you.
  • Usage events: a random visitor id stored in your browser, the page path, the referring site, campaign tags in the link, the country (from the network), a rough device type, and actions such as choosing a palette, downloading the picture or opening the pricing page or checkout. Your band colors and the notes you type about your yarn stay in your browser. We keep these events in our own first-party event log.
  • Anonymous usage statistics: the site uses Google Analytics (GA4) to count visits and see which parts of the planner are used. It receives page views and actions such as choosing a city year, a palette, a download or a pricing step, together with a rough location and device type. We never send it your email, your name, your message or anything you type. Google Analytics sets its own cookies to tell visits apart.
  • Forms: the email address and message you send through the contact form, or the email you enter at checkout.
  • Network address: used only to limit how many requests one network can send per hour and per day, stored as a salted one-way hash in a counter.
  • Spam protection: forms have a hidden field that people never see (automated scripts tend to fill it in) and we note how long the page was open before you pressed send. Messages that trip either check are dropped. There is no third-party spam check, puzzle or tracking for it.

What we do not do

  • No advertising code and no ad cookies, and we do not sell your data. Usage data goes to our own event log and to Google Analytics, and nowhere else.
  • Your email is used only to reply to you or to send the one message about checkout you asked for.

Third parties

  • NOAA supplies the weather data. Your browser does not contact NOAA; our server asks for the data and keeps a copy.
  • Google Analytics (GA4) provides anonymous usage statistics, as described above. Its privacy information is on Google’s site, and you can block it with a browser setting or extension without affecting the planner.
  • Cloudflare hosts the site and its database, and may measure page views in aggregate.

Your choices

To have your email or messages deleted, email support@temperatureblanket.site. Clearing your browser’s site data removes the random visitor id.
